Sinéad Goldrick Makes History with Eighth All-Star as Dublin Dominates the 2025 Awards!
The 2025 awards season is buzzing with excitement as the nation’s top female athletes across soccer, camogie, and football are celebrated for their remarkable performances over the past two days. But here’s where it gets particularly eye-catching: Dublin’s ladies football team has once again proven why they are the team to beat, leading the All-Star honours with a whopping seven selections.
The highly anticipated TG4 Ladies Football All-Star team for 2025 was revealed at a glamorous banquet held on Saturday evening at the Bonnington Dublin Hotel. The event was filled with anticipation, cheers, and a palpable sense of pride as the country’s best gathered to celebrate excellence on the pitch.
Dublin’s remarkable seven selections included defenders Jess Tobin, Leah Caffrey, and the legendary Sinéad Goldrick, midfielder Éilish O’Dowd, and forwards Carla Rowe, Hannah Tyrrell, and Kate Sullivan. Goldrick’s inclusion marked her eighth All-Star award, solidifying her status as one of the most decorated players in the sport’s history.
Not far behind, runners-up Meath earned four All-Star nods. Their stars included goalkeeper Robyn Murray, defenders Mary Kate Lynch and Aoibhín Cleary, and forward Niamh Gallogly. Galway, who reached the All-Ireland semi-finals, had two players recognised: Kilkerrin-Clonberne duo Nicola Ward in defence and Olivia Divilly up front. Interestingly, Ward and Divilly are the only returning All-Stars from the 2024 team, making their achievement a testament to consistent high-level performance.
Kerry, winners of the National League Division 1 and semi-finalists in the All-Ireland Championship, also earned recognition, with top scorer Síofra O’Shea named at full-forward. Meanwhile, Waterford’s captain Emma Murray achieved a historic milestone by receiving her first All-Star, marking the first time a player from the Déise has been honoured since Rebecca Hallahan in 2007.
This year saw seven players collecting their very first All-Star awards: Robyn Murray, Jess Tobin, Éilish O’Dowd, Emma Murray, Niamh Gallogly, Síofra O’Shea, and Kate Sullivan. Mary Kate Lynch and Olivia Divilly celebrated their second awards, while Aoibhín Cleary, Nicola Ward, and Hannah Tyrrell now count three All-Star selections each. Leah Caffrey and Carla Rowe added a fifth to their accolades, and Goldrick’s eighth award was the night’s crowning achievement.
It was also a special evening for Na Fianna club in Dublin, as three of their players—Caffrey, O’Dowd, and Tyrrell—made the All-Star team, underlining the club’s strong contribution to the sport.
